When a route runs through a service that pools funds from many users, the direct link between the incoming and the outgoing transaction is broken, but the surrounding facts remain: the amount that went in, the moment it went in, the fee structure of the service used and the amounts that came out shortly afterwards. In some files those facts are enough to describe a probable continuation, in others they are not, and the honest answer is that the route stops there.<\/p>\n<p class=\"pterm-p\">We therefore report two things separately. The first is what is demonstrable, namely that a balance moved to a specific service at a specific time. The second is what is likely, with the reasoning and the uncertainty stated in words rather than implied. That distinction matters when a file goes to an institution, because a claim presented as certain and later shown to rest on inference weakens everything around it.
